Getting started
Bleu is a painting playground. You paint with a brush, and each stroke becomes something alive: a growing vine, a flowing river, unfolding flowers, glowing embers. Nothing needs setting up and you don't need an account.
Your first stroke
- Open Bleu. It opens in the Floating island, a quiet pale sky to paint in.
- Choose a brush. The palette along the bottom holds the brush categories (Ground, Water, Wind, Fire, Wood, Metal, Plants and Animals). Tap one to open its tray, then choose a brush. Nothing is selected until you choose, so dragging on the canvas does nothing at first.
- Drag on the canvas. The pointer becomes a small paintbrush. Your stroke grows into the brush's creation, and keeps the path and speed of your hand.
- Keep going. Try a slow stroke, a quick sweep and a single tap. A wobble, a dab or a loop all become something worth keeping.
Good to know
- Slow and heavy strokes make fuller, denser creations. Quick sweeps make finer ones.
- A stylus adds pressure: it changes leaf size and river width.
- Undo and Redo are in the toolbar, and a Clear removes the painting (and can itself be undone).
- Your painting is saved on your computer as you go, for recovery. Use File → Save to keep it as a file you can open later. See Saving and opening.
- If you have reduced motion turned on in your system, ambient movement such as drifting clouds and swaying stays still.
